North Carolina breakthrough artist Hemlocke Springs has dropped her third single, ‘stranger danger!’. It’s a self-described “anti-capitalist anthem” and certified alt-pop banger. Its energetic, cutting rhythms are relentless, and her voice not only manages to keep up with the intensity of the beat, but complements it with sassy melodic hooks. Her debut track, ‘gimmie all your love’, caught the attention of fans on TikTok, who described her work as reminiscent of early Grimes, reimagined through an 80s synth-pop lens.
